Jacob's Choice  - Monday

This dramatic tale of “Jacob’s Choice”, an Amish family’s effort to preserve a lifestyle and a culture is unforgettably told through a high-tech, multi-media production conceived in the finest tradition of Hollywood and Orlando themed attractions. Recently re-mastered with added visuals, sound re-design, and new special effects, visitors experience “400 years of history in 40 minutes of magic.”

Only the third “experiential” theater in North America, the Amish Experience Theater, three years in research and planning, has been designed to break down the barrier between audience and movie screen. Changes in the environmental space within the theater literally allow you to “experience” the action as it unfolds around you.

Neither an IMAX nor a 3-D movie, the theater set consists of actual barn siding, with five multiple projection screens, 100,000 watts of theatrical lighting, custom-designed mechanical special effects, four-dimensional sound imagery, an original musical score, and unforgettable ghosting effects.

“Jacob’s Choice,” nevertheless, remains at its heart an emotional, personal story of an Amish family and the resilience of Amish culture through the ages.

Plain & Fancy Dinner - Monday

Lancaster's Central Farmer's Market - Tuesday

The country's oldest farmers' market, in the heart of Amish country occupies a beautiful 120 year old red brick building chock-full of local character. Regional food specialties include Pennsylvania Dutch sausage, scrapple (a breakfast meat of pork scraps and cornmeal), and headcheese (like scrapple, an acquired taste). You'll also find preserves, including chowchow (pickled vegetables in a spicy mustard sauce), and bread and butter pickles.

The Lititz Moravian Congregation - Tuesday

Under the leadership of Lutheran pietist Count Nikolaus Ludwig von Zinzendorf, the Moravians first established a small church, called St. James, in Warwick Township on a small parcel of land donated by local farmer John George Klein.  By 1754, Klein conveyed his entire land parcel of 491 acres to the expanding Moravian Congregation.  Almost immediately the main street was laid out, with the village name, Lititz, taken from a Bohemian castle where Moravians had found refuge many years earlier. Only Moravians could live in Lititz, and the church owned the property on which a house could be built. Congregation members had to adhere to strict rules of living that were clearly defined by Moravian church leaders. This system lasted for just over one hundred years when the now-bustling town of Lititz was opened to all. Because Lititz was a tight-knit religious community, many early Moravian material goods remained here.

The Sturgis Pretzel Tour - Tuesday

Founded in 1861, the Julius Sturgis Pretzel Bakery is the first commercial pretzel bakery in America.

Wilbur Chocolate Factory Store/Museum Stop - Tuesday

Kitchen Kettle Village - Wednesday

For over 55 years we have been preserving the bounty of Lancaster County in our Jam & Relish Kitchen and celebrating the area's wonderful heritage with food festivals and special events that make Kitchen Kettle Village a little different...and a lot of fun!

Stroll through our village of 42 shops and restaurants built around our nationally celebrated Jam & Relish Kitchen. Sample pepper jam, watch fudge being rolled, go for a horse drawn carriage ride and listen as Banjo Jimmy plays a tune.

Hershey Farms - The Grand Smorgasboard - Wednesday

Hershey Farm’s Grand Smorgasbord features both classic PA Dutch dishes and modern flavors. Enjoy our original recipes, hot entrées, freshly prepared daily specials on the Grill, a hot carving station, crisp salads and homemade soups on the Soup, Salad, Gourmet Bread & Potato Bar and our famous desserts on the Bakery fresh deluxe dessert bar.

Hershey - Thursday

Chocolate World - Thursday

A fixture of the Hershey Park amusement complex, Chocolate World allows visitors to learn all about the process of making the company's delicious treats.  Attractions include an informative and entertaining motorized ride describing the chocolate making process, a 3-D animated musical starring the Hershey Product Characters and a sizable shopping area with an array of confections, candies, homemade fudge, cookies, apparel, toys and other excellent gifts.
